Cuisinart Kitchen Appliances
Savor the good life, get Cuisinart kitchen appliances
It was almost three decades ago that Cuisinart launched its first kitchen product — the famous Cusinart food processor. After that the company has not looked back. Today the Cuisinart kitchen appliances are rated as among the finest kitchen products available in the US.
The kitchen appliances that are sold under the punch line "Savor the Good Life" include citrus juicers, coffeemakers, countertop cooking appliances, electric kettle, frozen yogurt-ice cream and sorbet makers, hand blenders, hand mixers, stainless steel, non-stick stainless, and copper cookware, scales and prep boards, toaster oven broilers, toasters and waffle makers.
Interestingly, Cuisinart was set up by an MIT-trained physicist, Carl Sontheimer, who happened to be an accomplished cook, and his wife, Shirley. The couple started out by importing top-quality stainless steel cookware. But two years down the line, the couple came up with the Cuisinart food processor. The processor drew a lukewarm response. But the couple were not defeated. Improvisations were made, features were fine-tuned and the product was relaunched. By 1977, Cuisinart's food processor was much in demand. Sales soared and the rest, as they say, is history.
In the 1980s, Cuisinart broke out of its 'food processor' tag and launched a cooking videotape series for consumers. It also published several much sought after cookbooks. In 1989, the brand Cuisinart was sold to Conair Corporation in Stamford, Connecticut, a leading nationwide manufacturer of consumer appliances, personal care products and consumer electronics.
Under the new leadership, Cuisinart doubled its success rate and introduced such innovative products as the Food Preparation Center, and the Mini-Prep, a pint sized replica of its famous food processor.
The company also launched countertop hand blenders, hand mixers, toasters, Toaster Oven Broilers and coffee makers. This has made Cuisinart a one-stop shop for kitchen appliances.
