Energy Saving Light Part 3
ENERGY SAVING LIGHT: THE ULTIMATE POWER BUSTERS
"When the night has come, and the land is dark, and the moon is the only light we see."
Remember that excerpt from a song? It may be that simple but it has a great impact on many of us. That is because we can never survive the night without a light.
However, even if it is very essential in our survival, it can also be perilous especially if it conserves too much energy that sends our electricity bill skyrocket in the air. If that happens and we can no longer pay the energy amount we consume, we might as well live in the dark and depend on the moonlight.
But this should never happen, especially now that the information technology is fast shaping our future. What comes next is an array of energy saving light that will provide us with greater illumination without having to spend thousands of dollars in electricity.
What is the solution? Energy saving light.
The Energy Saving Light
Generally, the energy saving light is in no difference with the traditional type of light as far as their physical appearance and function is concerned.
However, with the prices of commodities escalating to greater heights nowadays, light manufacturers had created a device that will at least take the burden of paying high commodities off our shoulder. That is where the energy saving light sinks in.
Normally, a typical house would consume at least 10 to 15 percent of the electricity bill That is, indeed, a lot of money.
In most cases, the typical light bulbs convert the light to heat energy. That is why we can feel its heat whenever we get close to it. And because it transforms light energy into heat energy, the light bulb consumes more energy but provides lesser illumination. That would make you dissatisfied with the condition at the same time burden you with a high electricity bill at the end of the month.
On the contrary, energy saving light works in a different way. It provides greater amount of illumination without having to consume a large amount of energy.
The Three Artificial Lighting Source
With energy saving lights, you can get the same amount of illumination but with a lesser amount of energy consumption.
Scientifically speaking, the efficiency of energy saving light is categorized under three artificial lighting resources. They are the Cold Cathode Lights, Compact Fluorescents, and the LED Lights.
The Cold Cathode lights are considered to be the best energy saving light in terms of lumens per watt. Though, Cold Cathode is still on its infancy that is why it might still cost a little higher than the rest of energy saving light.
The lumens per watt are the amount of light output from a tube or bulb. Lumens are the general unit of measurement by most lighting devices. In simple terms, it is the amount of light being projected by a certain light bulb. For example, a 100-watt lamp has an output of 1750 lumens.
On the other hand, Compact Fluorescents are the effective energy saving light alternative to incandescent lights. These are the energy saving lights that produces the same amount of lumens or illumination but with less energy consumption.
With the advent of technology, the Compact Fluorescent lights or the CFL bulbs have taken the place of the traditional light bulbs including its shape. But because CFLs are energy saving light, its cost and value is a little higher than the incandescent bulbs. Though, its effect on energy consumption will make a great difference.
The third light source of energy saving light are the LEDs or the light emitting diodes are more feasible when used in task lighting, or the process of putting illumination in places where it is needed most. The only drawback with LEDs is that it costs a little higher than the others.
Indeed, with the features of energy saving light, people could really make a big difference as far as their energy consumption is concerned.
But then, it doesn't mean that we have to depend on it all throughout. In order to achieve more savings, we still have to practice some saving tips so as to maximize the potentials of energy saving light.
With energy saving light, we don't have to fear anymore of going through the night with only the moonlight in our hands. As long as you know how to maintain energy saving lights, it can serve you with utmost performance day and night.
